Kick-Off Meeting: Official Launch of the Erasmus + eDrone Project, 13-16 February 2017

Between 13-16 February 2017, in Erevan, Armenia, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus + "Educational for Drone (eDrone) project" was carried out, being hosted by the project partner, the National Polytechnic University of Yerevan. The Academy of Public Administration was represented at this meeting by Silvia DULSCHI, PhD, associate professor, and Tatiana SAVCA, university lecturer.

Founded in 1933, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia has 100,000 graduates. Today it has more than 11,000 students, 1,000 teachers, most of them with scientific degrees. The University prepares engineers (5 years of study) at 105 specialties. Master - 19 specialties and doctorate - 17 specialties. It has 3 branches, 20 blocks of study.

The participants in the project launch meeting were welcomed by the University leadership, by the ERASMUS + representative in Armenia, the Ambassador of Italy to Armenia, by the project coordinator prof. Pasquale Daponte of Sannio University, Italy.

The Erasmus + "EDrone - Education for Drone" project is co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus + KA2 Capacity Building Program from October 15, 2016, for a period of 3 years.

The objective of the project is to define a learning environment to provide more opportunities to acquire new skills related to the use of drone technologies in professional activities. These new competences relate in particular to the use of advanced ICT solutions for the use of the drones and the data obtained with the help thereof in order to diversify the professional opportunities of young people.

During the meeting, the general presentation of the project took place, the main purpose and objectives were presented, the budget and the eligible costs of the project were discussed. In line with the Consortium Action Plan, the leaders for the implementation of the work packages presented the planned activities, the program for training, piloting and policy development, management, quality and outcome evaluation, dissemination and sustainability.

Meeting participants viewed the presentations of the project partners and project website. As a result of the discussions, opportunities for future collaboration were identified, in particular joint drafting of the project's work packages and their implementation.

The program of the meeting also provided several visits: to Matenadaran (Museum of Ancient Manuscripts); Museum of the film director Parajanov; familiarization with the scientific laboratories of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and other activities.

Participation in this meeting will have a positive impact on the organization of the activities within the Action Plan of the project, as well as on establishing the relations with the institutions whose representatives participated in the meeting.

Project Coordinator Pasquale Daponte handed  the Partnership Agreement signed by EACEA representatives to each project leader.

During these days, the members of the partnership, consisting of 17 institutions, discussed topics related to good project implementation, project management, effective dissemination of results, financial aspects, project sustainability. At the same time, the tasks of each institution were discussed and distributed within the project work packages, the means of communication of the partners during the project development, etc. were identified.
