MONITORING MEETING OF THE LNSS PROJECT

On June 14, 2018, a LNSS Project Monitoring Meeting took place at the Academy of Public Administration. Monitoring of the project was carried out by the representatives of the Erasmus+ National Office in the Republic of Moldova.

At the meeting, Rector Oleg BALAN, Ph.D., professor, said that at the moment, 6 projects are in progress at the Academy of Public Administration. Erasmus + project activities, in its opinion, have led to an increase in the quality of services offered by the Scientific Library of the Academy, which has more than 46,000 volumes of books. One of the recent achievements is the opening of the Multimedia Room. The Rector of the institution thanked the Erasmus+ National Office for its support.

Claudia MELINTE, coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office in the Republic of Moldova, said that monitoring is not only a review of achievements, but also an estimate of the sustainability of this project in the institution's vision and, ultimately, the opportunities for future new projects.

Rodica SOBIESKI-CAMERZAN, Head of the Scientific Library of the Academy, Silvia DULSCHI, Head of Sciences and Doctorate Department of the Academy, PhD, Associate Professor, Elena HARCONIŢA, Director of the Scientific Library of the State University Alecu Russo from Bălţi, other speakers referred to various aspects of modernizing the work of libraries from higher education institutions involved in the project, as well as the National Library Awareness Day.

 

The meeting was attended by representatives of the scientific libraries within the other higher education institutions, and the subdivisions of the Academy of Public Administration.

The project “Library Network Support Services: modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming libraries [LNSS]” implemented under Erasmus+ "Capacity Building in Higher Education (2015-2018)" Program, runs from 15 October 2015 to 14 October 2018. The main objective of the project is to strengthen and modernize libraries by improving the skills and abilities of library staff in higher education institutions in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus by developing innovative libraries as support for education and lifelong learning.
