Dear users of the Academy of Public Administration

The Academy of Public Administration is one of the most prestigious higher educational institutions of the country. Highly qualified professors, possessing vast knowledge in the field of Management, Public Administration, Law and International Relations activate here.

In the course of 20 years of activity, the Academy underwent a qualitatively new evolution, being thus rightfully considered an elite center for the promotion of the state policy in the field of public administration and of training civil servants of all levels.

Currently, the Academy of Public Administration is a prestigious institution, where a new vision, creative thinking and a modern concept on the contemporary society are formed in hundreds and thousands of civil servants from the Republic of Moldova. The structure of the Academy includes 3 Departments, 6 specialized Chairs, a Scientific and Electronic Library, Science and Doctoral Studies Division, International Cooperation Division, Editorial and Printing Division, and other structural subdivisions.

The major role in ensuring and maintaining performance is played by the well-trained professorial-didactic staff and the experienced specialists of the Academy, who promote and transmit knowledge by means of their teaching and research activities, debates, documentation and publication of analytical materials, as well as of methodological recommendations on issues of the public service.

The result of our work, which we are so proudly speaking about today, is our graduates - members of the Moldovan Parliament, leaders of different ranks, officials from the central government and local authorities, managers of state institutions, specialists in different social areas.

Since the foundation of the Academy, more than 4,000 people have become specialists with higher postgraduate, and Master degree education. From year to year, the number of civil servants in public authorities who have completed professional training courses expands; currently their number is around 21,000 people.

One of the major concerns of the Academy is the quality of training, both of Master and doctoral degrees, and of civil servants delegated by central and local government bodies. The integration of informational technology in each academic discipline is a constant concern, the administration of the Academy following to modernize the teaching process. Alongside with teaching, the research activity is promoted and supported; serves as visiting card of the Academy of Public Administration. Thus, each specialty has a scientific research and publishing plan, participates in national and international conferences or symposia.

The Academy is involved in the elaboration of various documents and the perfection of the legal framework for the public service, the status and ethics of the civil servants. In the process of implementation of the complex reforms in public administration, the teaching and managerial staff of the Academy develops draft laws, concepts and national strategies. Four specialized scientific laboratories have been created and successfully activate in order to organize and enhance scientific research in the given field.

Paramount importance is given to the international cooperation of the Academy, its increased collaboration with similar institutions abroad, the organization of common activities with the diplomatic missions accredited to Chisinau. According to the signed agreements, the Academy currently cooperates with 16 overseas institutions in the field and with 32 international organizations and diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova.

Currently, the concept of training within the Academy meets the national and international educational standards. The curricula have been reviewed and adjusted to the training needs of civil servants, the content and forms of organization of the training process have been enhanced. Adjustment of the training and professional development processes to the European standards and the fulfillment of its five major functions (training, education, scientific creation, legal and administrative culture, academic life) will help the Academy of Public Administration to become the school of consciousness, of dignity and people's will, a high school which draws on superior forces of intellectual and moral dignity, thus making the professional complete master of his fate, committed to the community and country.
