Public access and communication of documentary and informational resource
The primary focus of the APA Scientific Library is to provide high quality information and documentation services to its users.
Being one of the basic structures of the Academy, the library is in the service of the academy community, which forms a specific quota of beneficiaries: master students, PhD students, teachers, participants in professional development courses, researchers. Additionally, the library provides information and documentation services and for the staff working in the public administration system, for service applicants from other higher education institutions having faculties, specialties related to public administration.
The library has 50 seats simultaneously offered, including: Reading room No. 1 - 30 seats, equipped with computers and IT technology, connected to the Internet - 12 seats; Reading room no. 2 with free access to the book fund - 20 seats.
Library users benefit from the following services:
1. Documentary services:
• Unlimited free access to the documentary resources of the library;
• Consultation of documents and information resources in the library space;
• Borrowing publications at home;
• Booking documents;
• Extending the term of borrowing documents, including by telephone or e-mail;
• Borrowing documents from the reading rooms during the days-off;
• National interlibrary loan;
• personalized service for people with special needs.

3. Electronic services
• Internet access;
• Online access to the library electronic catalog (OPAC);
• Access to the library website;

• Assistance in searching, finding, selecting and using information and documentation resources;
• Assistance in assessing the quality of information sources;
• E-exhibitions;
• Consultation of electronic documents;

• Possibilities of editing and copying of documents on electronic support;
4. Communication services
• User registration;
• Visiting the library;
• User’s orientation, guidance, consultation;
• Individual and group consultation of documents;
• Cultural-scientific activities (book launches, scientific conferences, roundtables, book exhibitions, etc.)
• Photocopying facilities of materials from library collections.
5. Paid-for Services:
• Serving the non-specific user (not provided in the Regulations on the organization and operation of the library);
• Copying (photocopying, scanning, digitization);
• Listing;
• Editorial services (typing, editing, technical editing, layout);
• Multiplication;
• Loss or damage to the document from the library fund (according to the provisions of the Contravention Code of the Republic of Moldova, No. 218 of 24.10.2008);
• Exceeding the deadline for returning a borrowed document (set out in the Regulations on the internal order of the library).
