Library Network Support Services [LNSS] Project monitoring Meeting

On December 16, 2016 at the Scientific Library of the Academy was held a meeting of LNSS project monitoring, implemented under the Erasmus+ program "Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education".

In his welcome address to participants at the event, senior vice-rector of the Academy Andrei GROZA, Ph.D., associate professor, noted that Scientific Library has about 47 000 volumes of books, and, along with the implementation of the project, it was provided with advanced equipment. Thus, professors and PhD students, master students at the academy have the opportunity to inform in the educational process, having access to an extensive database of information.

Claudia MELINTE, Project Coordinator, National Erasmus+ Office in Moldova, emphasized that field monitoring of the project during the first year of implementation is not an exercise in control, but comes into its support.

The purpose of monitoring is to clear some difficulties and problems, on the one hand, and on the other - to highlight successful experiences and best practices, so that they can be replicated in other projects Erasmus +. The conclusions and recommendations of the meeting will be presented to the European Commission, which is the project sponsor.

Head of Department of Science of Academy, DULSCHI Silvia, Ph.D., associate professor participant in the project, made a presentation of the project. She informed that the coordinating role rests with the Public Administration Academy of Armenia and concluding meeting of 2018 will take place at our Academy. In his view, the impact of the project will be major, and from its results will benefit not only libraries, but also academic and educational institutions in all three countries.

Rodica SOBIESKI-CAMERZAN, director of the Scientific Library, was referred to the implementation stage, the exchange of experiences and international trainings in the project, technical assistance provided to our institution. She noted that on June 10, 2016 journal of the Academy "Public Administration" was included in the international database DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals). After that our magazine began to be quoted in magazines abroad.

Director of the Scientific Library from the State University "Alecu Russo", Elena HARCONITA, institution co-participant in the project, said that within it are implemented five work packages, referring in particular to the trainings and ensuring open access in the University Library.

Erasmus+ representatives and members of the project implementation team discussed in detail and some other issues, including its impact on the Academy of Public Administration and the State University “Alecu Russo".

The event brought together Academy professors, doctoral and masters students.

Project implementation period is 15 December 2015 - 14 December 2018 Project aims to strengthen and modernize libraries and raising qualification levels and skills of library staff of selected Educational Institutions from respective states by developing innovative libraries to support education and continuous learning. As partners in the project includes 13 institutions of higher education in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus but also from Ireland, Greece, Germany and Romania.
